Szabolcs Miklós Sánta, LL.M.
Szabolcs Miklós Sánta, LL.M. is a Hungarian attorney with more than 15 years of professional experience, admitted to the Budapest Bar. He has represented clients before Hungarian high courts as well as international tribunals, including the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
His practice focuses on immigration and residence law for non-EU citizens, covering EU and national permanent residence, employment-based permits, EU Blue Cards, and family reunification. He also acts in appeals and strategic litigation where authorities issue unlawful or delayed decisions.
With a strong background in complex litigation and defense, he provides clients with clarity, efficiency, and secure handling of their immigration matters in Hungary and the EU.
Appeals and strategic litigation
When authorities issue unlawful decisions, I challenge them. I handle administrative appeals and court proceedings, particularly, but not exclusively in EU Long-Term Residence (EUPR) and National Permanent Residence (NPR) cases.
I regularly review NDGAP practice, identify legal errors, and pursue strategic litigation to correct systemic issues. No outcome can be guaranteed, but you will get a clear litigation plan, risk assessment, and a realistic timeline.

FAQs
Can I switch my permit without leaving Hungary?
In some cases yes, in others – no, depending on your current status and timing. We confirm this during the consultation.
How long will my case take?
It depends on the procedure and any requests for further evidence. We set expectations up front.
What should I prepare for our call?
Passport, current permit and/or decision letters, proof of income/insurance where relevant, and your target timeline. The best approach is to collect every document that might be relevant in the case including everything that has been submitted (if it’s an appeal/lawsuit).
Do you handle appeals and court cases?
Yes, very much so. I prepare administrative appeals and bring court actions where appropriate, particularly in EUPR and NPR matters.
What if NDGAP delays or requests extra documents?
We plan for realistic timelines, track deadlines, and respond to lawful requests. If the process becomes unlawful (takes too much time to decide), we consider remedies.
Do you offer services to employers?
Yes. I coordinate with the employer directly or HR for employment residence permit, Hungarian Card and EU Blue Card procedures.
Can you guarantee an outcome?
No. I provide expert advice and representation; results depend on the facts, the law, jurisprudence and other factors.
